A brief description of the department:
Fordham University has had a graduate program in classics since the
early 20th century. Its emphasis has traditionally been textual. It
includes a medieval PhD option. The library is very strong in classics
and includes a palaeography room. Fordham has been participating in a
consortium with City University of New York and New York University for
nearly 15 years; all our courses and students in them are shared.
